Tahoe trail to undergo rerouting

A popular trail at Lake Tahoe will be closed for two weeks while Forest Service crews reroute portions away from environmentally sensitive areas. The Lake Valley Trail, known locally as the Christmas Valley or Dardanelles trail, will be reconfigured to reduce impacts to resources and user conflicts.

Three motorcyclists have been killed in traffic accidents during the annual Street Vibrations motorcycle festival in Reno. And Nevada Highway Patrol troopers say tow truck operators have responded to another 35 motorcycle accidents resulting in minor to moderate injuries.
